Are You Advertising Underwear?

 Carlissa Weathers

Who wants to walk around showing the world what underwear they decided to wear today? Well, that's what people are doing when they decide that they want to sagg their pants. Sagging pants has been a trend for many years that a lot of the younger generation seems to follow. Its a thing were guys prefer for their pants to be off of their butts instead of around there waist. To me, it seems a little weird because it shows that the person sagging does not care if a girl or a guy look at their underwear. A lot of guys say that they don't like when homosexual dudes look at them in any type of way, so why would you walk around showing your butt for them to look. Maybe once guys get that grown man mentality then, they wont act in childish ways. Grown men prefer to present themselves in a way that will earn them respect. Grown men do not walk around with their pants to their knees, struggling to walk straight, worrying about if their pants will fall down to the ground. I would never take someone to meet my family and he come in with his pants down or let alone be in public with someone like that! Dudes, SAGGING IS NOT CUTE.

Wrongful Conviction?

Carlissa Weathers
September 22, 2011

(CBS/AP)
JACKSON, Ga. - Strapped to a gurney in Georgia's death chamber, Troy Davis lifted his head and declared one last time that he did not kill police officer Mark MacPhail. Just a few feet away behind a glass window, MacPhail's son and brother watched in silence.
Outside the prison, a crowd of more than 500 demonstrators cried, hugged, prayed and held candles. They represented hundreds of thousands of supporters worldwide who took up the anti-death penalty cause as Davis' final days ticked away.

Davis was convicted in 1991 of killing MacPhail, who was working as a security guard at the time. MacPhail rushed to the aid of a homeless man who prosecutors said Davis was bashing with a handgun after asking him for a beer. Prosecutors said Davis had a smirk on his face as he shot the officer to death in a Burger King parking lot in Savannah.
No gun was ever found, but prosecutors say shell casings were linked to an earlier shooting for which Davis was convicted.
Witnesses placed Davis at the crime scene and identified him as the shooter, but several of them have recanted their accounts and some jurors have said they've changed their minds about his guilt. Others have claimed a man who was with Davis that night has told people he actually shot the officer.
Carlissa- Troy Davis is one of many whom may have been wrongly convicted of a crime he may not have committed. I feel that after 20 years, if there is still no prove that the accused committed the crime then they should be let free. That was definitely the case for Troy Davis, there were no solid evidence that he was the one who pulled the trigger on that officer that night. If he was the one who actually killed the officer, why wasnt he sentenced to death 20 years ago? Why after all these years was the case still under investigation, because there was no proof that he did it! So, yes i believe that he was wrongfully convicted, they just needed to blame someone because it was a police officer who died. Troy may have had some involvement that night but under the law, if no evidence put him at the crime then he cannot be charge for the murder. Where is the justice?

New Detroit Police Officer Shifts Take Aim At Crime

12-Hour Shifts Begin Monday After 15 Shot In 48-Hour Span, Police Say

DETROIT -- Detroit police Chief Ralph Godbee says he expects more officers to be on the streets after a 24-hour period that was packed with gun violence and left six people dead and nine wounded around the city.

Godbee told Local 4 News Morning in a telephone interview Monday that changes could double the number of officers on the streets during the typically busy period of the day for police between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

“It’ll get the community, the good hardworking people who do it right every day, a boost of confidence to a see of number of officers out deployed,” Godbee said.(Click on Detroit Sept 13).

Godbee says staffing details are being worked out with union officials.

  • Watch: DPD Plans To Stop Wave Of Violence

  • Police say the shootings happened at nine locations between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday. They come amid an increase in homicides from last year.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing said in a statement over the weekend that reducing violent crime is his administration's top goal.

Carlissa- Things in the City of Detroit is really getting out of hand and need to be controlled. Its good that Mayor Bing is trying to eliminate crime by having more officers on the street but I honestly dont think that it will make a drastic change. Police officers is not gone be able to patrol every street in the city all day. People in Detroit are so careless that they would commit a crime whether a cop car is by or not. Or they will simply wait til the officer has rode pass then commit the crime. I think that the city need another solution to this problem. Maybe more neighborhood activities such as picnics, block parties and carnivals. Having activities like that can help bring the community together and get there mind off of commiting crimes.

Kwame Kilpatrick Sex Scandal: More Steamy Text Messages Revealed

The embarrassing messages between Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty from 2002 and 2003 appear in an 18-page document released Tuesday on the orders of Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Robert J. Colombo Jr. in response to a lawsuit by the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News.
The document was obtained from the computer of Michael Stefani, an attorney who represented three police officers in whistle-blowers' lawsuits against the city that were settled last year for $8.4 million. The text messages were taken from Beatty's city-issued pagers. The messages could prove damaging to Kilpatrick and Beatty, who are accused of lying under oath in one of the lawsuits by denying they had an intimate relationship. They are charged with perjury, misconduct and obstruction of justice. Both have denied wrongdoing.
The document released Tuesday includes descriptions of sexual trysts, the frequent use of the N-word by the mayor and Beatty as a term of endearment, and discussions of marriage.
On Sept. 15, 2002, Beatty described a sex act she wanted to perform on the mayor but said she didn't know how to approach him about it. He replied: "Next time, just tell me to sit down, shut up and do your thing!"
Later that month, the pair appeared to arrange a sexual encounter in Beatty's office. On Sept. 19, 2002, Beatty wrote to Kilpatrick: "I have wanted to hold you so badly all day, but I was trying to stay focused on work. So, I promise, not to keep you longer than 15 minutes."
    Kilpatrick replied: "Don't promise (N-word.)"
Beatty said: "I'm in my office. Do you want me to come to yours or you coming to mine?"
Kilpatrick said: "I'm coming down there ... LOL ditto. Freaky Chris!" (Huff Post Apr. 28).
Carlissa- Even though Kwame committing adultery against his wife, cheating is not a crime. He is human and free to do whatever he want. The only reason that Kwame and Beatty was caught was because of the firing of a former Detroit police officer. You never hear in the news that someone went to jail because of cheating on there spouse so i honestly think that they took it over board. The media made a big deal out of nothing only cause of his occupation.
